Welcome to River Run House & Cottages

Situated in the heart of Ireland is the serene, lakeside village of Terryglass.
Terryglass sits on the shores of Lough Derg, with a lovely marina and the remains of the 6th century St. Columba’s monastery.

River Run House & Cottages is situated right in the middle of this idyllic village and is the perfect getaway location for your bridal shower.

Our accommodation has been completely refurbished to the highest standard to create a unique rural destination.
A magical place to escape to, River Run House ensures the bride-to-be enjoys the last of her single days with those nearest and dearest in pure comfort and style.

Our bridal shower package includes sumptuous, seasonal meals served at our sister restaurant The Derg Inn, situated just a
stone’s throw from River Run. With everything right on your doorstep there is nothing to do but relax, have fun and enjoy making memories to last a lifetime.

River Run House & Cottages has a total capacity of 30 guests*
River Run House accommodates 14 guests in beds with a further 4 in luxurious bespoke sofa beds.
Our 3 adjoining cottages each accommodate 4 guests

** Our Bridal Shower offering is based on a 2 night stay with a minimum of 14 guests Bridal showers have exclusive hire of River Run House & Cottages.

Important Information for Large Groups staying at River Run House & Cottages

In order to maintain the very high standard of accommodation at River Run House & Cottages, we feel it is necessary to advise you of the following regulations:

There will be a safety deposit of €1000 per group, payable to us at the time of booking. Alternatively, we can hold card details on file for this purpose. No deduction will be made without advising the lead guest. This amount is fully refundable after inspection of the premises following your group’s departure. This deposit is payable to cover breakages, damage and any excessive cleaning requirements from your group booking. We understand that spillages are inevitable, but where excessive cleaning is required – we need to call in extra staff to cover this so that our bookings run smoothly and without delay for incoming guests. There will be a standard soilage charge of €150 per incident as these clean ups require extra time and effort from our housekeeping staff.  All of these extra costs, when required, will be documented and photographed and the costs involved will be sent by email to the lead guest.

The Derg Inn are very happy to welcome large groups for dinner bookings and form part of our weekend package. A soilage charge will apply in the event of an incident in The Derg Inn – their housekeeping staff have to keep standards to a high level in the bar/restaurant so this payment will hopefully deter any unreasonable incidents. We are grateful to all staff in The Derg Inn for accommodating our guests and we want to maintain a good relationship with them.

We have invested hugely in the refurbishment of River Run House & Cottages and are very proud of what we have achieved. The level of comfort and the quality of all furnishings was a priority for us and we wish for that level to continue from guest to guest. We expect our guests to treat our property with the care and respect it deserves. While we very much welcome large groups, we cannot stress enough that
this level of care MUST be maintained. If this is not the case, we may have to ask guests to leave early. We do not condone this behaviour and no refund will be offered. All damage or excessive cleaning costs will be taken from the safety deposit.

Due to the above, we cannot accept confetti on the premises – either loose confetti or confetti balloons.
It has proven very difficult in the past to remove this from our premises and it inevitably affects ourneighbours too. As per our Terms & Conditions, blue-tack and cellotape are not allowed for the purposes of decorating.

All breakages must be reported to staff on departure of River Run House & Cottages. Our soft furnishings – handmade chairs, sofas, blinds and curtains – are of the highest quality and any stains or marks will have to be professionally removed from these items. We ask you to treat these with the upmost respect and any damage to these items must be reported to staff and the cost for the items to
be repaired will be taken from the safety deposit. If the cost of damage exceeds the safety deposit amount – this amount will be billed to the lead guest and they are responsible for settling this account. We feel that the above is reasonable in order for us to maintain our facilities to the highest standard for our very valued guests, we hope you can appreciate this.
